Wedding:
St. Patrick Catholic Church
Engagement:
Bellevue
Type:
Spring Wedding in Gretna
Reception:
Round the bend in Gretna
My thoughts:
My latest wedding was at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Gretna. This was my first time there. I loved the church. This one of the few churches that I’ve found that is beautiful forward and backwards. I could not decide whether to photograph the couple in the front or the back of the church (see images).
The couple was also great. I worked non-stop the entire time; I was there three hours before, an hour for the wedding and about twenty minutes after the wedding. After all this time, I still was not satisfied with the images. I have a list of must take images, and I'll mix in some fun and playful shots. After almost four hours of taking pictures, I was not satisfied with the mix of images I got.
In between the wedding and reception we stopped in the metropolis of downtown Gretna. What a gorgeous area. We spent about 10 minutes taking more pictures of them from in front of a garage door to under a tree and some bridals. After that ten minutes, I was happy with the mix of images, then it was off to the reception.
At the reception, we had planned to take some sunset pictures. I scouted out a simple but nice location, got my lights set-up, and they were gone from the reception for about ten minutes. After everything was done and I had a chance to look at the images, I had a new problem: how I’m going to fit all these images in one book.

My sincere gratitude goes out to Heidi and Travis for inviting me to their wedding and for all the laughs.
