Let me introduce myself. My name is Jerry Misiewicz. My family and a wonderful marriage have fueled my enthusiasm for wedding photography. Also, because of my family, I'm limiting myself to one or two weddings per month.
In case you are wondering about the name, Looking Glass was the plane I worked with during my time in the Air Force.
I'm a transplant from Indiana. My background is a technical one with degrees in Computer and Information Science, Electronics Technology, and in the fall of '09, a Masters degree in Computer Information Systems. I plan to focus further on formal photography education after my Masters. Learning has always been enjoyable and something I believe in.
I should also introduce you to the official Looking Glass Greeters: Lizzy, Mr. Darcy, and Bingley. My wife and I enjoy watching Jane Austen's “Pride and Prejudice”, and while we lived in England we were able to tour many of the movies sites, so it felt natural to name our dogs after the characters.
My first camera was a Minolta SR-7 that my father gave me. It was love at first sight. While I was in Indiana, I was lucky to be mentored by Harry Dudzik of Bodie photography. He was a true artist and craftsman. The biggest lesson he instilled in me was that as long as you're still learned means you're still growing. Once you think you know it all is when you're showing your ignorance.
